Doerte Engelkes is film author, cinematographer and anthropologist and is engaged within the range of non-fictional film production, visualizations in science and multimedia based knowledge transfer.

  • as filmmaker: at present she is producing corporate videos/image films, info-videos and multi-media projects with audinfilm in Northern Germany and worldwide. Focuses are  classical forms of  narration, e-learning products and cross-media storytelling for organisations and companies.
  • as experienced cinematographer: she is working for more than 20 years for public broadcasting channels and filmed media reports, news, documentary formats and journalistic tv-magazines.
  • as scientist: recently as research fellow in the international ERC-research project GlobaldiverCities of the Max-Planck Institute in Goettingen (Prof. Steve Vertovec), she was responsible for the realisation of documentary films and multimedia-content in New York, Singapore and Johannesburg. Research focus was the visual transformation of social science related research issues and methods in the context of migration and diversity.
  • als lecturer and trainer: since 2007 she is teaching media related courses and workshops at universities and research institutes e.g. in digital media praxis, visual communication and audio-visual research methods or social media storytelling.

She holds an M.A. in cultural anthropology and public relations and was trained in filmmaking by Juergen Rumbuchner (BVK) in Frankfurt (Main) and worked for television & broadcasting companies since 1997.

In 2016 Doerte Ulka Engelkes founded the media production company AUDINFILM and offers film realisation, multimedia solutions & camera crews in Goettingen, Kassel, Hannover and worldwide…
