What does a hundmaenniskan from Goettingen have to do with a Swedish art gallery?

The dog person – hundmaenniskan – from Goettingen in Lower Saxony  is Doerte Ulka Engelkes, who was appointed for this multidisciplinary global artwork. The project A Collaboration Monument  is a collaborative work realized by the Swedish Gislaved Konsthall. The initiators of the project are artists Olof Nimar and Oern Alexander Àmundsen.
All the global actors involved create eight drawings together. There is no single artist, no single author. Art is seen as a collaborative work from which the blueprints for this monument are created.

The collaborative and online drawings created by the 3 actors are printed on t-shirts that are sent to eight dancers from different parts of the world: Canada, Venezuela, Singapore, Lithuania, Italy, Sri Lanka, Jamaica and Mexico. The dancers will each create their own short dance video based on their drawing, which they will post on their respective social media profiles.

The project is curated by Renée Padt and Nils Svensk.
