Panorama Tour Notre Dame des Fontaines

Hidden away in a tributary valley of the french alps, the remarkable small church Notre Dame des Fontaines is located and regarded as the mediterranean Sistine Chapel.

It is build on the foundations of an pre-christian temple complex, worshipping the 7 divine springs underneath.

The wall frescos of the chapels’ nave were completed by Canavesio in 1491 and illustrate in comic-strip quality 25 scenes of the passion narrative of Jesus.
